Priority Health Medicaid coverage
The Medicaid program pays for health care for individuals and families with low incomes and resources. Priority Health Government Programs, Inc., is a Medicaid Health Plan administering health benefits in several counties in West Michigan.
To enroll in Medicaid with Priority Health
When you're covered by Medicaid, you can switch companies once a year, in May (see "When you can enroll," below).
- You can ask for Priority Health Medicaid by calling MI Enrolls toll-free at 888 367-6557.
- If you don't choose a company to provide your Medicaid coverage, the State of Michigan may automatically assign you to a company that manages Medicaid coverage in your county.
When you can enroll
Each year, the State of Michigan has an "open enrollment period" in the month of May when you can switch your Medicaid coverage from one company to another.
- If you apply to change to a different Medicaid health plan at the beginning of May, your Medicaid coverage will switch to the new company on June 1.
- If you apply in mid-May or later, your Medicaid coverage will switch to a different Medicaid health plan on July 1.
